On Thursday, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet colleagues attended a special screening of the period action drama “Samrat Prithviraj” and declared the film tax-free in the state. Akhilesh Yadav, the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated that the film is even better if a ticket is purchased, a jab at the BJP government.
Mr. Yadav tweeted, “The film looks even better from the back and with a ticket instead of for free because it does not harm the state’s revenue.”
In another tweet, he requested that the cabinet view the current state of Uttar Pradesh after viewing the historical film.
Furthermore, the Samajwadi leader stated that “past dough” cannot be used to make rotis in the present.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, female lead Manushi Chillar, and director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi attended the film’s Lucknow premiere at Lok Bhawan.
Mr. Yadav tweeted that the BJP cabinet is viewing a historical film in a modern theater constructed by the Samajwadi Party.
Akshay Kumar portrays the legendary warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan in the film “Samrat Prithviraj,” which will be released on June 3 in theaters nationwide. In the film, Manushi Chillar portrays Princess Sanyogita. Additionally, Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood play significant roles in the film.
According to Akshay Kumar, the film was inspired by the “last Hindu Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, who shed his last drop of blood to defend Bharatmata.”
