Recovery of Attacker’s Vehicle

The vehicle used by the attackers has been recovered from a village in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The seizure took place in Miragpur village late on Wednesday night. The car’s number plate indicates that it was registered in Haryana, as reported by the police.

Investigation and Initial Findings

The crime scene has been examined by a forensic team, revealing that four shots were fired at Aazad’s vehicle. It is believed that there were four to five attackers involved in the incident, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada from Saharanpur.

Incident Details

The attack occurred when unidentified assailants opened fire at Chandra Shekhar Aazad’s car in Deoband, Saharanpur district. He was visiting a supporter’s home to attend a ritual at the time. A bullet grazed Aazad’s abdomen during the incident.

Response and Demands

A heavy deployment of police force was made at the district hospital in Saharanpur as a precautionary measure, as supporters of Aazad gathered there, demanding the immediate arrest of the attackers. The Bhim Army and Azad Samaj Party supporters joined together at the hospital, and additional security personnel were deployed. The Bhim Army has demanded the prompt arrest of the accused and strict action.

Statements from Leaders

Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, criticized the law and order situation in the state, likening it to “jungle raaj” (lawlessness). He raised concerns about the safety of both the people’s representatives and the general public under the current BJP rule. Shivpal Singh Yadav, a leader of the Samajwadi Party, also condemned the law and order situation, stating that the opposition in Uttar Pradesh is now being targeted by both the government and criminals.
