The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rainfall for Telangana and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in several districts of Telangana for the next two days. The Regional Meteorological Department (Amaravti) forecasts light to moderate rain or thundershowers in North Coast Andhra Pradesh (NCAP), Yanam, South Coast Andhra Pradesh (SCAP), and Rayalaseema on Monday and Tuesday.
Telangana Forecast
The Hyderabad meteorological department has predicted thunderstorms with lightning in the districts of Karimnagar, Peddapally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubbabad, Siddipet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Wanaparthi, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts of Telangana for the next two days.
Andhra Pradesh Forecast
The Regional Meteorological Department (Amaravti) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at one or two places over NCAP, Yanam, SCAP, and Rayalaseema on Monday and Tuesday. The temperature is expected to gradually rise in these areas by 2-4 degrees Celsius.
Cyclone Mocha
The IMD has reported a low-pressure area that has formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal, which is expected to intensify into a cyclone. The cyclone is likely to move towards the Bangladesh-Myanmar coast later this week and skirt West Bengal and Odisha. Bengal is expected to get rain under the influence of Cyclone Mocha on May 10. The met department said there is very little possibility of rains caused by the cyclone in the next two days in Bengal.
