In an Instagram post on Wednesday, popular YouTuber and comedian Lilly Singh revealed that she was hospitalized with ovarian cysts. The post, which has since received over 260,000 likes, stated that she has cysts on both of her ovaries and that “it hurts and I’m tired.”Singh posted a video of herself lying in a hospital bed, jokingly rolling her eyes as Silk Sonic’s “Smoking Out The Window” played in the background.
Singh’s YouTube channel, which she started in 2010, has over 14 million subscribers and 3 billion views, and she is known for making humorous skits. In April, she will also release “Be a Triangle,” a self-help book.According to The Mayo Clinic, ovarian cysts are “fluid-filled sacs” that can appear on the surface or inside an ovary. Most women get them without any harm, and they often go away on their own, but The Mayo Clinic reports that they can occasionally cause serious symptoms such as sharp pelvic discomfort and bloating.Singh’s Instagram post drew widespread support, including from other celebrities.Howie Mandel commented that he was “here if you need anything,” while Instagram influencer Brittany Furlan Lee said she was “sending love” and jokingly referred to her as a “Cyster.”
