Almost 200 cases of severe and unexplained hepatitis in children have been reported worldwide.
Scientists are attempting to determine what is causing the outbreak, which has so far affected approximately 190 children.
Severe hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver caused by a viral infection, is uncommon in otherwise healthy children.
