On Saturday, a shocking incident unfolded in Sangam, Prayagraj, where a youth from Hisar, Haryana, was apprehended with the lifeless body of his mother concealed in a trolley bag. The accused faced legal consequences as he was presented before a local court on the same day, subsequently being sent to judicial custody.
Postmortem Report Contradicts Accused’s Claim
Two days later, on Sunday, the Prayagraj Police disclosed disturbing details from the postmortem report. Contrary to the accused’s statement, which alleged strangulation as the cause of death due to a financial dispute, the report indicated that the 42-year-old woman met her demise from a head injury.
Suspicion of Strangulation
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Prayagraj) Deepak Bhuker highlighted additional findings in the postmortem report, pointing outa mark around the victim’s neck. The police suspect that the youth not only strangled his mother but also callously pushed her to the ground, resulting in the fatal head injury.
Challenging the Accused’s Narrative
Expressing disbelief in the accused’s initial confession, a police officer stated that the postmortem findings contradicted the claim of strangulation during a fit of rage. The investigation now takes a critical turn as authorities unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
