Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking at the convocation ceremony of Gopal Narayan Singh University in Rohtas district of Bihar, expressed his belief that India will become one of the top three economies in the world by 2027. He urged the young minds of the country to contribute with new ideas and innovations to assist the government in transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajnath Singh emphasized the crucial role of youth in driving progress and achieving the nation’s goals.
India’s Economy Shows Tremendous Growth

Rajnath Singh highlighted the remarkable growth of India’s economy, stating that it has reached a tremendous level. India has already joined the top five economies in the world. Citing a Morgan Stanley report, he mentioned that India is projected to be counted among the top three economies globally by 2027.
The Defence Minister also emphasized the significant growth of India’s start-up ecosystem, noting the substantial increase in the number of start-ups in recent years. He highlighted that there are now nearly one lakh start-ups, including over 100 unicorns, compared to only 500 around seven to eight years ago. Rajnath Singh expressed his belief in the potential and capability of the youth to take the nation to greater heights and contribute to the betterment of humanity.
Connecting Education with Culture and Values

Rajnath Singh stressed the importance of students connecting with India’s rich cultures, values, and traditions while pursuing education and knowledge. He emphasized that these values not only define individuals but also represent their parents, teachers, and the nation as a whole. The Defence Minister encouraged students to prioritize character development, emphasizing that in India, a person’s worth is not solely determined by their knowledge but also by their values, behavior, and how effectively they utilize their skills. He cautioned against ego, overconfidence, and self-centered attitudes as obstacles to personal growth, emphasizing the need for collective and inclusive progress.

Furthermore, Rajnath Singh urged students to focus on their spiritual growth while educational institutions nurture them academically and mentally. He called upon the teaching fraternity to ignite the eternal flame of learning within students, recognizing it as a vital aspect of individual growth and societal development.
