Renowned African-American Hollywood actress and singer Mary Millben has been invited to perform during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Official State Visit to the United States. The visit is scheduled from June 21 to June 23, and Mary Millben’s participation was announced in a media release on Monday. The invitation was extended by Ruchira Kamboj, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.
Performance at the 9th International Day of Yoga
Mary Millben will be attending the 9th International Day of Yoga at the UN Headquarters (UNHQ) in New York on June 21. During the event, she will join Prime Minister Modi on the UNHQ North Lawn. Millben expressed her anticipation for Prime Minister Modi’s arrival, emphasizing the significance of this visit for the US-India relationship, which she considers the most important alliance in the world today. She extended her gratitude to the Steering Committee for the Prime Minister’s Official State Visit and highlighted the shared values of unity, democracy, and freedom between the two countries.
Indian Diaspora Event in Washington
In addition to her participation in New York, Mary Millben has been invited to perform at the Indian Diaspora event on June 23. The event will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington. Millben thanked the Steering Committee for the thoughtful invitation and referred to the motto of the G20 Summit this year, “One earth, one family, one future,” as a timely statement for welcoming Prime Minister Modi to the United States. She described it as an honor to perform for the gathering of the Diaspora in Washington, D.C., in order to welcome Prime Minister Modi.

She has performed the National Anthem and patriotic music for four consecutive US Presidents: George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden.
