On the solemn occasion of Shaheed Diwas 2025, India paid homage to three of its most iconic freedom fighters—Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru—who were martyred on March 23, 1931. Their revolutionary spirit continues to inspire generations.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav led the tributes, remembering the trio’s dream of a socialist India, free from exploitation and injustice. “Bhagat Singh dreamed of a socialist India where prosperity and happiness reigned, and arbitrary power would no longer oppress the people,” he said in a heartfelt statement.

Yadav also commemorated Dr Ram Manohar Lohia’s birth anniversary, hailing him as a fierce opponent of injustice whose guiding principles still steer the Samajwadi Party. “We are committed to addressing the rising inflation and financial struggles of farmers. Our efforts are to fulfil the vision of these great leaders,” he added.
