Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) has set records by winning the TV measurement company Nielsen’s $2.25 billion outsourcing contract. The contract is the largest ever signed by an Indian IT company.
The TCS deal marks the renewal of the relationship between the company and Nielsen. The TV Measurement Corporation granted TCS a contract of 1.2 billion, 10 years in 2015, which subsequently doubled to 2.5 billion and extended it until 2020.
The outsourcing contract of Nielsen was now extended to 2025. The $2.25 billion deal guarantees Nielsen TSC 320 million dollars annually, between 2017 and 2020, 186 million dollars annually between 2021 and 2024 and 139.5 million dollars in 2025.
TCS Deal Agreement
This agreement is intended to enhance Rajesh Gopinathan’s profile as Chief Executive Officer of TCS in February 2017, following the appointment of N.Chandrasekaran as Chairman of Tata Sons Ltd – the holding company of the group.
The statement of Nielsen reads as follows – “The agreement has been extended for five additional years to expire on 31 December 2025, with Nielsen being granted three one-year renewal options. Vatican Accenture Exit
The Vatican recently hired Accenture to simplify and unify its digital communications. The Communications Department of the Vatican asked global consulting firm Accenture to set up a channel known as ‘Vatican News.’
The Vatican hopes that the channel will help them communicate more effectively with the faithful. They hope that Accenture will contribute to establishing a clear digital communication strategy for the Church – all within a unified portal.
