Three earthquakes of low intensity hit the northwest at the beginning of Friday. Separate earthquakes hit Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya within a couple of hours.

Assam Tezpur 2.04, as described by the National Center for Seismology, suffered a 4.1 size earthquake in the richter scale (NCS). At a depth of 22 kilometres the quake occured at 02:04 am.
36 kilometres west-northwest of Tezpur was the epicentre of the quake. “Magnitude:4.1 Earthquake,” NCS said in a tweet, “On 18-06-2021, 02:04:40 IST, Lat: 26.73 and LONG: 92.44, Depth: 22 Km, Location: 36 kilometres, Tezpur WNW, Assam, India.
Previously, a magnitude 3.0 earthquake on the Richter scale affected Moirang Manipur. The NCS reports that the quake took place in a depth of 10 kilometres at 1.06am. The epicentre of the tremor was 39 km east-south of Moirang.
In the West-Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, there was also a 2.6 magnitude earthquake at Richter scale. NCS said the quake happened 10 kilometres deep, at 4.20 am. The seismic epicentre was 58 kilometres west-west of Nongpoh.
