The Vadodara police successfully apprehended two individuals with a history of criminal activities on December 4, 2023. These suspects were identified in connection with the recent deaths of five people who allegedly consumed a spurious Ayurvedic syrup in Kheda.
The incident prompted the filing of an FIR at the Nadiad Rural Police Station on December 1, following a complaint lodged by Police Inspector D N Chudasma. The FIR listed five individuals as accused, including the two apprehended suspects.
Nitin Kotwani and Bhavesh Sevakani, both residents of Vadodara, were separately captured by the Vadodara City Prevention of Crime Branch (PCB). The arrests took place early on Monday, as the suspects returned to the city, purportedly to consult with a lawyer regarding their legal situation.

Notably, both Kotwani and Sevakani have a history of involvement in similar cases, adding a concerning dimension to the ongoing investigation.
