Chirag Paswan….! The LJP feud reached the polling station on Friday, where MP Chirag Paswan asked the polling station to reject decisions by his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras. The elections were not held.
Earlier this week, Paras and four other MPs allegedly ousted Paswan from the post of Party Chairman and Party leader in the Lok Sabha. Paswan argued that the Paras-led faction has no right to undertake such actions or a required quorum by the National Executive in accordance with the constitution of the Party.
After a national executive meeting, his faction removed the 5 MPs for anti-party activities. Paswan told the EC on Friday that the rebels lacked locus standi to make the decisions they did.
He requested that they refrain from using the party symbol. Paswan told reporters that if the Paras faction made a claim to the LJP symbol or the party, it should be rejected prima facie and he should be given an opportunity to respond.
According to sources, the Paras-led faction, which held its own national executive meeting on Thursday to declare Paras party president, was also supposed to approach the EC in person, but this has yet to happen.
According to these sources, Paswan will travel to Bihar next week to rally his supporters in a battle that is currently underway.
