Cockroach found from Moonlight Takeaway, a Chennai restaurant. Nivetha requested more stringent protocols when it came to ensuring food hygiene at the Tagging Swiggy, the delivery partner she had ordered the food with.

“I don’t know what Swiggy India standards and restaurants maintain now for days. Twice lately, I found cockroach in my food (sic). Nivetha said, “It is very important to have regular inspection of those restaurants, to heavily refine, if not up to standards.

“And it is not the restaurant which added cockroach to their food for the first time from the messages that I receive.
What’s so reckless about the restaurant? She also wrote and added that in such instances, Swiggy India should cancel a licence for defaulting restaurants by requesting that this restaurants be removed from the app”.
A few hours later, after her complaint on social media, she tweeted a message she received from Swiggy India.
Swiggy said the restaurant was “oflung off” of its platform and only after a thorough quality audit would it be added back. The message reads, “The outlet was immediately removed from our platform for the first time and as discussed during the call.
