Renowned Bollywood choreographer and filmmaker, Farah Khan, recently shared a surprising revelation about her encounter with global music sensation Ed Sheeran. Despite hosting a star-studded Bollywood party for the singer during his India tour in 2017, Farah confessed that she initially had no clue who Ed Sheeran was.
In a candid conversation on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, Farah disclosed that her introduction to Ed Sheeran came through a request from her cousin, who worked at a music company. Her cousin sought her help in showing Ed around Mumbai as he was in the city for concerts.
Farah admitted to dismissing the request at first, assuming Ed Sheeran was just a friend of her cousin. When her aunt also inquired about it, Farah turned to Abhishek Bachchan for answers. To her surprise, Abhishek revealed that Ed Sheeran was, in fact, the number one singer in the world.
The Bollywood Party
Recalling the Bollywood bash she hosted for Ed Sheeran, Farah humorously mentioned that she initially criticized the DJ for playing what she thought was “funeral music.” It turned out to be Ed Sheeran’s music, and the singer reportedly enjoyed Bollywood tunes more than his own tracks.
Ed Sheeran’s Bollywood Affection
Farah shared that Ed Sheeran had a great time at the party and expressed a preference for Bollywood music over his own. Despite receiving VIP passes for his concert the next day, Farah chose not to attend.
Farah Khan’s amusing anecdote highlights the unexpected encounters that can happen in the world of showbiz, where even a seasoned figure like her can find herself unfamiliar with a global music icon. Ed Sheeran’s Bollywood adventure adds a unique chapter to the cross-cultural experiences in the entertainment industry.
