An Oman Air flight bound for Muscat had to return to Kozhikode International Airport due to a technical snag. The flight, identified as WY 298, departed from Karipur airport at 9.15 AM but had to turn back shortly after takeoff.
Safe Landing Despite Technical Fault
According to a Calicut airport official, the flight landed safely despite the technical issue. The landing was reported to be normal, and all passengers were unharmed.
Fuel Burning Procedure
To manage the situation, the flight reportedly circled the airport for two hours to burn fuel before attempting to land safely.
Another Incident with Air India Express Flight
This incident follows another technical issue with an Air India Express flight bound for Dubai, which had to return to Thiruvananthapuram after issues related to the AC system. The flight, numbered IX 539, returned after over 2 and a half hours.
Rescheduled Departure
In response to the technical glitch, Air India arranged for another aircraft to ensure a comfortable journey for all passengers. The rescheduled departure was set for 6 PM.
