On Tuesday, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ experienced a significant decline at the box office across all regions, according to trade sources. Despite this, the film has already entered the 200 crore club, earning approximately 230 crore globally at the end of its fifth day in theaters worldwide. The movie made more than 10 crore on Tuesday, May 2, bringing its total earnings in India to 100 crore (nett) in just five days. Furthermore, the film has been a success in the US market, earning over $3.5 million (about Rs. 28 crore) in just five days.
The Review
ABP Live reviewed the film and stated that the film has put itself in a separate league where the drama takes center stage, as opposed to flashy action sequences, despite being compared to the epic ‘Baahubali’ on the internet. Although the political drama keeps the audience hooked, the only time the audience sees swords clashing and a gory battlefield is during the final moments. ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is one of the rare sequels that not only lives up to the expectations spawned by the first part but far exceeds them.
About the Film
