An FCC listing has revealed the specifications for the Redmi Note 8 (2021). While Xiaomi has already launched the Redmi Note 10 series in India, the company is looking to update a couple of older handsets with new features.
A new Redmi Note 8 (2021) has reportedly been spotted on several certification sites such as FCC and EEC, implying that it is still in the works. The phone’s key specifications have also been leaked online by social media tippers. The MediaTek Helio G85 SoC is said to power the Redmi Note 8 (2021).
Kacper Skrzypek of XDA Developers took to Twitter to announce the discovery of a new Xiaomi handset with the model number M1908C3JGG on the FCC certification site. The tipster later added, citing “one of Xiaomi’s pages,” that this model number is associated with the Redmi Note 8 (2021).
According to the FCC listing, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, has a 4,000mAh battery, and runs MIUI 12.5. The same model number has also been discovered on European EEC certification.
Xiaomi goes on to say that the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will not be available in India, Indonesia, or Turkey. Its codename is Biloba, and it will most likely be released in the global, EEA, and Russian markets. The leaker goes on to say that the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and will have a 4,000mAh battery. The phone is said to support 22.5W fast charging.
Redmi Note 8 Specs
The Redmi Note 8 (2021) is expected to have a quad camera setup on the back, with a 48-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, another depth sensor, and a tele-macro lens. The Redmi Note 8 (2021) is expected to have a full-HD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate, though Xiaomiui has found references to a 120Hz refresh rate as well. It will most likely have a waterdrop notch, 4GB of RAM, and storage options of 64GB and 128GB. Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth v5 connectivity are expected to be available.
