Shahid Kapoor, a popular Bollywood actor, has confirmed that his upcoming action film “Bloody Daddy” will be released on Jio Cinema, an Indian over-the-top streaming platform. The film, which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is an official adaptation of the 2011 French movie “Nuit Blanche.” Kapoor made the announcement at a large event hosted by Jio Studios, where more than 100 films and shows were unveiled.
Kapoor expressed his excitement for the genre and working with Zafar, who is known for directing successful Bollywood films such as “Tiger Zinda Hai,” “Sultan,” and “Bharat.” However, he also expressed a dilemma of how to create such a grand action movie for the big screen when it is already done on OTT platforms.
The film is being billed as a “stylised relentless action-packed ride,” and it marks the first collaboration between Kapoor and Zafar. Kapoor shared his experience of shooting the action sequences, stating that he kept asking “What the f***s going on?” but was able to perform them well due to his dancing background, which helped him learn the choreography quickly.
Despite the challenges faced during the shoot due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kapoor enjoyed doing the film, which he says requires choreography similar to dancing. “When you do action, you lose about a kg a day, so it’s really tough but you’ve to look really buff,” he added.
Overall, Kapoor and Zafar are excited about the release of “Bloody Daddy” on Jio Cinema, and Kapoor expressed his appreciation for the support and trust given by the platform.
