On Thursday (21/04), Tiradentes holiday, the state of Fortaleza will keep two health centres open exclusively for routine vaccination. From 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Paolo Marcello and Messina stations are open.

Thursday (21/04) marks the start of routine vaccinations at health centres.

Vaccines for influenza (the eighth vaccination campaign) and measles (the twenty-fourth vaccination campaign) will be made available to children aged 6 months to less than 5 years – 4 years, 11 months, and 29 days. Older adults over the age of 60, as well as health care workers, will be able to receive the flu vaccination.

The flu syndrome

The state of Fortaleza confirms that vaccination is being administered to adults and children infected with the Covid-19 virus in accordance with the recommendations of the Brazilian Society for Immunization (SBIm).

They should not receive the immunising agent until 30 days after the onset of symptoms, or until a positive result is obtained in the absence of symptoms. In the absence of coronavirus but with a flu-like syndrome, the vaccine should be administered 48 hours after the symptoms have subsided.

Vaccination for COVID-19

The municipality of Fortaleza continues to use biological immunomodulators at the vaccination points listed on the City Hall Portal during the Covid-19 campaign, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Volunteering in UPAs

For urgent care, Fortaleza has 12 emergency care units (UPAs), six of which are municipally run and all of which are open 24 hours a day, capable of caring for patients with moderately complex symptoms.
