The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has announced that the intermediate first and second-year (Class 11 and 12) exams have been declared with an overall pass percentage of above 55%. The board declared that 63.85% of students passed the first year exam, while 67.26% of students passed the second year exam. The best results were obtained in the Medchal Malkajgiri district in the first year and Mulugu district in the second year.
Applications for recounting and revaluation will be accepted from May 10th to May 16th. The Education Minister, P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, announced that advanced supplementary exams will be conducted starting June 4th. A total of 9.47 lakh students registered for the TS Inter exams, with 4,82,677 being first-year students and 4,65,022 being second-year students eligible to appear for the exams.
Separate cell to help students overcome stress, strain, and anxiety
The board has set up a separate cell called Telemental Health Assistance and Networking across the State (Tele Manas), to help students overcome stress, strain, and anxiety. The cell works round the clock, providing the services of psychologists and psychiatrists for counseling and guidance. Students can contact the toll-free number 14416.
Poor pass percentage for government junior colleges
TSRJC had a pass percentage of 92%, while government junior colleges had a poor pass percentage at 54%. The Telangana Minorities Residential Junior Colleges, KGBV Junior Colleges, Model Schools Junior Colleges, BC Welfare Junior Colleges, and Social Welfare Junior Colleges performed well.
Weightage of intermediate marks removed from EAMCET
The Education Minister urged parents and children not to worry and said that the government had eliminated the system under which intermediate marks were given weightage in EAMCET, the yearly entrance test held for admissions to engineering, agricultural, and other professional institutions, to relieve pressure on students.
