Uttarakhand COVID-19 lockdown restrictions have been extended for another week, until June 29, 2021, according to state minister Subodh Uniyal. However, some exceptions to the curfew will be made.
The lockdown in Uttarakhand had previously been extended until June 22 in order to contain the surge in COVID-19 cases.
New lockdown guidelines and timings in Uttarakhand: The new guidelines include relaxations for hotels and restaurants, which will be permitted to offer dine-in services from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a 50% seating capacity.
The government of Uttarakhand also said that 50% of bars will be allowed to operate. Moreover, from July 1, Badrinath, Kedarnath, and Gangotri-Yamunotri may be visited by people from Chamoli, Rudrapryag, and Uttarkashi, respectively.
People throughout the state will be permitted to visit Char Dham from 11 July. The visit will nevertheless require a negative COVID-19 report.
Meanwhile, due to the COVID-19 situation, Ganga Snan was cancelled on Monday (June 20) in Haridwar for Ganga Dussehra. Haridwar Police stated that on June 20, the district boundary is being sealed, and that devotees from other states cannot enter.
