A disturbing incident has sent shockwaves through Assam’s Cachar district as the lifeless body of a 12-year-old Madrasa student was discovered on a Sunday. The young student was found dead within the premises of Darus Salam Hafizia and Alia Madrasa. The discovery was made by his roommates as they attempted to rouse him for ‘namaz’.
Swift Response and Investigation
As news of the tragic discovery spread, authorities and law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene. The police were immediately summoned and, recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Cachar’s superintendent of police, Numal Mahatta, hastened to the site to lead the investigation.
Unveiling Preliminary Findings
Initial investigations have indicated that the incident might have transpired during the early hours of the morning, somewhere between 3 and 4 am. The deceased student’s friends were the first to find him lifeless, prompting the immediate intervention of law enforcement officials. The gravity of the situation is underscored by the fact that the deceased’s brother also attends the same Madrasa and was present during the occurrence.
Ongoing Inquiry
To shed light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident, all students and teachers of the Madrasa are being called in for questioning by the authorities. Additionally, around 13 students of the Madrasa have been detained by the Dholai police for further inquiries.

In response to this distressing event, the district administration has taken the precautionary measure of sealing the Madrasa premises. The police are continuing their thorough investigation into the case.
