Poco F7 Debuts in India With Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, 7,550 mAh Battery at ₹31,999

New "flagship killer" takes aim at Nothing Phone (3) and Nord 4 with aggressive pricing and monster specs

New Delhi, June 25: Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco just dropped what could be this year’s most aggressively spec’d Android release — the Poco F7, now officially launched globally and in India. Branded with all the swagger of a “flagship killer,” the F7 doesn’t just flirt with premium performance — it charges full throttle, bringing the newly minted Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 to the masses at a mid-range price point.

Poco F7 Unleashed With Snapdragon Power And Mammoth Battery

At the heart of this new entrant lies Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 — a processor built on the 4nm TSMC node, which punches close to flagship power while keeping thermal throttling and battery drain in check. That processor is backed by 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage up to 512 GB, which places it toe-to-toe with phones nearly double its price.

What’s drawing equal attention is the display: a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3200 nits — among the brightest panels in its class. The global variant ships with a 6,500 mAh battery, but India gets a clear advantage: a beefed-up 7,550 mAh unit, possibly the largest battery ever in a mainstream slim-profile phone.

India Variant Gets Bigger Battery, Same Brutal Pricing

Launched as the Poco F7 5G on June 24 in India, the device goes on sale from July 1 via Flipkart, priced at ₹31,999 for the 12 + 256 GB version and ₹33,999 for 12 + 512 GB. Early adopters get a neat ₹2,000 bank-card discount, a year of screen replacement, and extended warranty — part of Poco India’s push to court gamers and heavy users looking for reliability without compromise.

The F7’s battery is paired with 90 W wired charging and 22.5 W reverse charging, delivering a near-full top-up in under 40 minutes, according to claims by Poco. Whether it lives up to that in real-world conditions remains to be tested, but the numbers are hard to ignore.

Flagship Features Without The Flagship Fuss

Design-wise, the Poco F7 doesn’t deviate wildly from industry trends — it’s all glass and aluminum, with an IP68 rating, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and minimalist branding. What makes it pop is the new “Cyber Silver” finish, a glossy yet understated aesthetic that stands out in a sea of matte and gradient designs.

On the optics front, there’s a 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor, accompanied by an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 20 MP front camera. It’s not revolutionary, but combined with Xiaomi’s image processing and enhanced low-light tuning in HyperOS 2, it’s likely to please most casual shooters and social media users.

Interestingly, Poco is also promising four years of Android OS updates (starting from Android 15) and six years of security patches — a rare assurance in this price bracket.

Target: Nothing Phone (3), OnePlus Nord 4

The Poco F7 lands just as the market is heating up with launches from Nothing, OnePlus, and iQOO. Analysts and tech reviewers, including those at PhoneArena and Gadgets360, are already drawing direct comparisons to the upcoming Nothing Phone (3) and the Nord 4.

Starting at roughly $339 globally (with early offers cutting that to €350), Poco’s pricing undercuts many rivals while offering near-flagship internals. In India, where pricing sensitivity is sharp and brand loyalty is brittle, the F7’s aggressive entry could force even established players to reconsider their launch strategies.

Gaming, Cooling, And Thermal Ambitions

Performance isn’t just about raw numbers — it’s also about sustainability. Poco has packed in a 6,000 mm² vapor chamber, LiquidCool, and IceLoop thermal tech, which it says will maintain frame rates during long gaming sessions. Their WildBoost Gaming Engine, included as part of HyperOS optimizations, adds further polish with network and touch latency improvements.

Initial benchmarks and reviews are promising, but real-world gaming stress tests will be the true decider. Early feedback from beta testers shared by AndroidGuys suggests that PUBG, COD: Mobile, and Genshin Impact all run comfortably on max settings without drops — at least during hour-long sessions.

Flipkart-Only Sale May Limit Reach

One potential bottleneck: exclusivity. As per The Economic Times, the phone will be sold only via Flipkart in India for now. While Flipkart’s reach is wide, it leaves out prospective offline buyers and those preferring Amazon’s ecosystem.

Still, with the launch hype, Poco seems to be betting on online-first momentum — a strategy that worked for its F-series predecessors.

Verdict: A High-Stakes Gamble That Might Just Work

The Poco F7 isn’t just another mid-range phone. It’s a statement — that you don’t need to pay flagship prices to get flagship hardware. With smart choices in processor, battery, display, and update policy, it walks the fine line between ambition and affordability.

If Nothing and OnePlus thought they had the sub-₹40K space locked down for Q3, Poco just crashed that party — and brought a bigger power bank.
